PLANNING YOUR NEW YEAR WITH CONFIDENCE

Become wise; point your life in the right direction. Proverbs 23:19 (Mes)

What is the “right direction”?  What is “secure”?  What can you “count on?”  What can we “know” that will not change or disappear?

The Good News is that there are at least six things you can build your New Year on, 6 things you can build your life on which are trustworthy, dependable, and secure.  They will last when all else may fail.  They will remain when everything else may change.

1. God’s purpose for your life will last.
You can make many plans, but the LORD’S purpose will prevail. Proverbs 19:21 (NLT)

2. God’s Word will last.
The grass withers, and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8 (NLT)

3. God’s love will last.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

4. God’s church will last.
“Upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.” Matthew 16:18 (NLT)

5. God’s salvation of you will last.
“I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” John 5:24 (NLT)

6. God’s presence with you will last.
I can never escape from your Spirit!  I can never get away from your presence!  If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. Psalm 139:7-8 (NLT)

Take these six things as your guidelines for this New Year.  Build your year around them.  Make commitments in these areas.  Set goals along these six lasting truths.  Your life will be transformed.
